The trunk module forms a high-performance test- and training system for the trunk. It is an adapter which needs to be connected to and operated through a multijoint module. The wide adjustment range, the simple positioning and the many different types of loading provided by the human kinetics software, enable for a wide field of application for test and therapy of the trunk. Torque / Speed: Max. torque 1000 Nm (hardware range), depending on type of module selected. / Max. speed 180°/sec (software limit), speed may be set to any value above 0.1°/s in 0.1°/s steps on quick adjust slider or by keyboard entry in software. Features: Footplate and knee support electrically adjustable in height for easier positioning of the patient. Knee support synchronized with footplate. Fingertip adjustment even with heavy patients already placed on the equipment. Retractable castor wheels combine easy displacement with high stability during operation, Testing capabilities: The testing range includes extension and flexion of the straight muscle chain of the trunk: extensor chain (back) and flexor chain (abdomen) of upper and lower back. The freely definable range of motion, which may be set between –15° to 105°, together with the different loading patterns controlled by the power module, allow for a wide range of problem adapted therapy possibilities for the straight musculature of the trunk. Types of loading: - isokinetic classic - isokinetic ballistic - isometric - isotonic classic - isotonic ballistic - CPM - physiological loading - user definable loading mathematical position / speed profiles (corresponds to CPM with variable, but strictly position defined speed) In both isokinetic modes and in both isotonic modes, loading can be CON/CON, CON/EX, EX/CON and EX/EX. Maximal torque and velocity values are fully adjustable by user under all possible variations of loading. The type of loading is fully defined in software, as on all other CON-TREX systems, and thus additional loading types may be added. The continuously ongoing development of the CON-TREX human kinetics software integrates on a regular time base the newest relevant findings in biomechanics, training theory, rehabilitation and other relevant research areas.
